Suggestion for individual marbles, spheres: use O-rings available for pennies at any hardware store. A single marble in an O-ring is not going anywhere unless you try and it is virtually invisible from more than a few feet away. For groups, one of my favorite displays is an old glass flower frog, usually found in antique shops for under $5, holding 12 to 24 marbles. Another suggestion, an old apothecary jar, or the type of jar they used to keep sugar in, in the old fashioned diners. Fill with marbles and top off with a clear lamp oil. The marbles will appear larger and the colors more vivid, it also reduces the possibility of scratching the surface of the marble. Another interesting display is made simply from a one inch by one inch piece of oak molding. Drill 1/2 holes at one inch intervals centered on the top. Screw into the wall at each end. Set your 5/8ths inch marbles in the holes and have a row of beauties on your wall. Have fun! Dick Rietema
